It was laid on my heart to share this with you regarding the power of intercessory prayer : )
I just wanted to let you know that after service yesterday, I prayed with Valerie Negri and what a blessing it has been to me already. A few days not in the word and I was feeling distant from my Father. Although my conflict is common to most women and quite superficial in nature, Valerie was so tenderhearted and compassionate and her prayer for me was and is a blessing. I got into the Word when I went home and the Holy Spirit led me to Galatians 5: 1-25, a beautiful reminder that I am already free of what slaves me and that God knows I'm running well (v 7) and that the persuasion is not from Him (v 8). He reminded me (v14) walk by the Spirit and I will not gratify the desires of my flesh. Exactly the words I needed to hear. The Holy Spirit then directed me to Colossians 3:12-17 which spoke to my heart concerning humility (the very thing we prayed for) and so much more. So my prayer that evening was Colossians 3:17, that whatever I do, in word or deed, I do in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
I have to say that I woke this morning with a renewed desire for God's Word and prayed that I would yield my will and let God's will be done in my life today. The Holy Spirit graciously took me to Philippians 2: 12 -13. How GREAT is OUR GOD!!!
I feel so blessed to be part of Calvary Chapel. My prayer for the church, myself and especially the women is directly from Philippians 1:9-11. And it is my prayer that your love abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. Amen.
